Hakansson Design Group is an award-winning, full-service interior design firm, serving clientele in greater Boston, Cape Cod & Islands, throughout New England and beyond.

The firm specializes in exceptional home decor, kitchen and bath design and custom cabinetry. Kurt Hakansson leads a creative team that is equally comfortable with envisioning and executing both modern and traditional designs.

An avid world traveler, Kurt brings an endless supply of creative ideas and sources to his work, giving it a stylized and global aesthetic.

His designs respect the architectural integrity of the space while recognizing the potential for enhanced form and function. He thrives on meeting the challenge of being simultaneously current and timeless.

Kurt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College in finance and business management. He is a professional member of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) and the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

Kurt serves on the board of directors at Community Music Center of Boston. He is active as a flutist in local performing chamber groups and appears onstage as a supernumerary with Boston Lyric Opera.
